Waiting on Wednesday- Affliction by LKH

Is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine where we talk about what book we are anxiously awaiting publication!

Some zombies are raised. Others must be put down. Just ask Anita Blake.

Before now, she would have considered them merely off-putting, never dangerous. Before now, she had never heard of any of them causing human beings to perish in agony. But that’s all changed.

Micah’s estranged father lies dying, rotting away inside from some strange ailment that has
his doctors whispering about “zombie disease.”

Anita makes her living off of zombies—but these aren’t the kind she knows so well. These creatures hunt in daylight, and are as fast and strong as vampires. If they bite you, you become just like them. And round and round it goes…

Where will it stop?

Even Anita Blake doesn’t know.

This is the 22nd Anita Blake novel and it comes out July 2. I am really quite torn with this series for a number of reasons, but I still can't help being excited a new one is coming out and wondering where she is taking the characters. I hope she wraps this series up soon before it becomes so terrible I stop wanting to by them like Sookie Snatchhouse.

Waiting on Wednesday- Ashes on Waves By Mary Lindsey

Is a meme hosted by the brilliant Breaking the Spine where I  spotlight an upcoming release I can't wait to come out and read!

I can't wait for this novel to come out because Annabel Lee is my favorite Edgar Allen Poe story/poem. It is haunting and beautiful and I want to see how a YA author treats it. Though after the YA retelling of Mask of the Red Death I am a little nervous. The Release for this novel in the enf of June 2013

A sexy gothic romance based on Edgar Allan Poe's "Annabel Lee"

Liam MacGregor is cursed. Haunted by the wails of fantastical Bean Sidhes and labeled a demon by the villagers of Dòchas, Liam has accepted that things will never get better for him--until a wealthy heiress named Annabel Leighton arrives on the island and Liam's fate is changed forever.

With Anna, Liam finally finds the happiness he has always been denied, but the violent, mythical Otherworlders, who inhabit the island and the sea around it, have other plans. They make a wager on the couple's love, testing its strength through a series of cruel obstacles. But the tragedies draw Liam and Anna even closer. Frustrated, the creatures put the couple through one last trial--and this time it's not only their love that's in danger of being destroyed.

Based on Edgar Allan Poe's chilling poem Annabel Lee, with references to many of his other poems including The Raven, Mary Lindsey creates a frighteningly beautiful gothic novel that glorifies the power of true love.
