So I am not sure what to say about The Fault in Our Stars, can one really review such a beautiful awful book and do it justice?
I hated this book
I loved this book
This book was a wonderful array of excellent story telling, heartbreaking conversations, grotesque descriptions, deep and amazing characters, intelligent writing and delicious wit.
This novel made me think, made me laugh and made me cry. I didn’t want it to end and I couldn’t wait for it to be over.
The author tackled a subject many people cannot bear to think about let alone research for months and put into a book. Teens with cancer, teens dying of cancer. Cancer in a real world, real life way, not some “in a better place the worse is over” bull shit.
I cannot even begin to tell you what the novel was about. I could say, it is about two kids with cancer who fall in love….but it is so much MORE than that.
I do not usually bother with fiction, and if I do it has to be something pretty special. I admit I was skeptical when my boyfriend handed this to me and said, “You have to read this, and I mean, right now, stop reading anything else and read this.” I did though and it was worth it. This book was special.
I can’t say much more than this.
